The Lego Takeover

Legos and Mega Bloks are so much fun! We build cars, houses, and boats with them. And guns. And pretty much anything you can think of.

The only thing is...they have kind of taken over the house.

Some cool stuff on yet another rainy day

If you're wondering why I'm up so late, it's because I took a 2 hour nap today. It was raining and there was nothing else to do.

This is what we looked like yesterday while we waited that scary thunderstorm out.

I laughed when I walked into the bathroom tonight because the tub was full of Mega Bloks. Mom scored a huge bin of them at the Goodwill but said they needed a good soaking before we could get to building!

We also got these cool chairs. Dad is not crazy about the color, but when Mom sees something retro in a fun color, she can't resist.

I think Goodwill is becoming her new favorite store (watch out Target!).

Tonight I played with my friend Sam. I let him drive my Mustang and then we cut down trees in the backyard with my chainsaw.

It's always fun when your neighbor can be your friend, too!

It Rained All Day, But...

Today Mrs. Pettebone called! I told her "hey" over the phone and she told me hey back. She also said she was excited to meet me! I think I like the idea of preschool a tad better now.

It stormed all day here. We got bored and started throwing toilet paper.

But then the lightning got so wild that Mom turned off the tv and computer, shut off the stove in the middle of baking blueberry muffins, and EVEN woke Jude up from his nap because the pine trees around his room scared her.

I'm glad things finally settled down so we could keep up our Moe's on Tuesday tradition.

After getting full bellies and two stickers from the nice lady at Moe's, we hit up free carousel rides at the mall.

Jude didn't like his horse...or maybe he didn't like that the horse moved up and down. So, Dad had to hold him while we went in circles.

Back home, Mom contemplated the idea of giving Jude a for real mohawk. 

He is so crazy, he could probably pull it off.

Letters and Numbers, Oh My!

Mom keeps telling me I'm going to start preschool soon. I am in the denial stage. She is trying to get me ready. She started reading a book called The Kissing Hand which reminds kids that no matter where they are or how lonely they may feel, their mama's love is always with them.

Every time she reads this book, I say, "Mom, I don't want to go to school." And then I make her give me lots of kisses. She tells me that my teacher will be Mrs. Pettebone (is this a joke?) and that I'll get to pick out a fun back-to-school outfit and carry a special snack with me every day.

Like I said, I'm still in denial about all this change.

Today we got to use markers and practice our letters and numbers. Jude just scribbled and then he colored his hands, arms and feet. We looked like a blue and green mess when it was all over!

Post-Weekend Thoughts

I was a party animal this weekend. On Friday, I hit up open gym with Jude, Ava, and my newest buddies (and neighbors) Sam and Adam.

I mostly watched all the kids (there were soooo many), but at the end I had a good time swinging on the rings. I felt like Curious George.

My other favorite parts of the weekend were trying on Dad's snuggly winter hats and then eating a giant bowl of macaroni at Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Even Jude behaved himself at the restaurant. Well, until the very end. He clutched the ketchup bottle like a football and wanted to take it home. 

Dad had to take it from him and then we exited the building as fast as possible.

Things went downhill while we waited in the car for Dad to buy some new shoes. He came back with a pair for Mom too. They were the color of Barney but Mom loves them. I guess that's what matters. 

Sunday was a lazy day. We skipped church and hung out in the bed til 9:30. Mom kept Adam for a little while and we played blocks and looked at each other.

Jude was very interested in his Cheerios and kept trying to hijack them.

I think Jude must have a very sweet side and a very mean side. Today he bit my arm and I tried to pull out his hair, but he was so nice to Adam. It must be a brother thing.

Night Owls

We were grumpy all day (according to Mom) because we stayed up too late lastnight and got up too early. 

But it was worth it.

Our buddy Ava came over. She told us about her pink toenails and her Tinkerbell doll. We were a little confused about these girly things, but we hit common ground when it came to eating, running, jumping, giggling, and playing.

Tomorrow we're going to open gym with her and I can't wait!

Mom and Dad were pretty happy today because Dad got something called Staff Sergeant. But I can still call him Dad. And I think this means that next year we can get a bigger car and hopefully a baby sister.

The time Jude almost lost a finger

Yesterday I smashed Jude's finger in the car door.

But he lived to tell about it.
