There is a certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse! As I have often found in traveling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one's position, and be bruised in a new place. ~Washington Irving

Moving On

I smell like Lysol. But, I have a very clean house (which is now mostly packed away in boxes), two children soundly asleep, and parents who are on the way to come help us.

I'm thankful, exhausted, excited, anxious, and stinky...all in one.

Tomorrow, we get the keys to the Nakina house. More cleaning awaits, then comes the big move. No matter how ready you are to move, there is always a little bit of sadness that goes along with it. Maddox did his first flip in the backyard here. We picked oranges from our neighbor's tree, did cartwheels by the patio, spied on Gary zooming away on his motorcycle. Jude took his first real steps in this living room.

But you must always remember, you are leaving just a house (and in this case, a very smoky one). The people and love that made it a home are coming with you.

Mr. Cautious decided to climb his closet shelves tonight. Next time he yells, "Mom, come look! This is fun!" I'm going to be a little nervous at what I will find.
