There is a certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse! As I have often found in traveling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one's position, and be bruised in a new place. ~Washington Irving

THE BEST OF TIMES

I do not like having C-sections, but I love having kids. They make a house a home. They keep me laughing (sometimes crying, but that's ok); they keep me BUSY. They keep my priorities straight and my heart open. I believe Santa will be very good to them this year!

Every day they learn something new and it is a privilege to watch. They challenge me like no college course ever did. It is my job to give them a childhood they will look back on and cherish...and to lay the foundations so that they will grow into successful adults. The little moments -throwing the ball, cooking Maddox "noo-noos," reading stories, putting on their shoes -add up to be the big moments...and they are passing too quickly. Parents, we have a BIG job! We are shaping the next generation. I remind myself of the big picture as I change spit-up sheets for the fourth time in one day...or when Maddox pees on my red silk chair. I laugh it off. These are good times.
